My Baby Girl

REWIND!
When I look at Jazmyne I am constantly amazed by how time just flies on by. I often feel like there is just no way that she is almost as tall as me, 10 years old and in the 5th grade! It's hard for me to explain, but when I think of Jazmyne the first thought and the first picture that pops into my mind is her as a 1 and 2 year old. I can remember her growing each year, but for some reason those 2 years really stand out the most. These are the images of Jazmyne that first come to my mind whenever I think of her. I think of my chubby little spit-fire with her curly brunette hair bouncing around.

March 2000 - 21 months old:

May 2000 - Almost 2! (23 months old):

I really miss our trips to the beach! Jaz and I used to go quite often. It was so relaxing, I would lay there soaking in the sun and listening to the waves and she would sit right by me and play in the sand. She never wandered or ran off and would keep herself entertained for hours! I can't imagine Parker being like that if I were to take him to the beach!
You know it's odd but sometimes Jaz will say something totally "teen-like" to me and because in my mind she is still that little it totally throws me off! Please someone tell me I'm not the only one that is in denial like this! I know I need to snap out of this denial ... I KNOW she is 10 but it's hard for my mind to wrap around that fact. She was such an easy child growing up but I think my challenge with her is going to be the next 8 years!

The little things ...

It's the little things (that melt my heart) like laying on my back with my legs tucked into my chest while Parker belly flops on them. I raise my legs up and down with him holding on and it instantly turns into minutes of chuckles and amusement for the little guy. And just how can I resist with a face like this smiling at me ....

There's nothing like Parker smiles and chuckles first thing in the morning!

Blessed

I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful husband who encouraged me to take a much needed vacation and who took such wonderful care of our kids while I did so. I'm back from my trip to California and I had a truly amazing time. I was very hesitant about leaving the kids behind but everything worked out and I am so glad I went! For the 1st time in 10 years I experienced some "Me" time. It felt a little odd at first but I knew the kids were being loved and taken care of by daddy. Sean was so good about taking pictures and videos of the kids and texting them to me. It was so refreshing to be back in my home town and to visit with my friends and family. I'm still extremely tired from my trip and have not had time to fully sort through all my pictures but here are a few I did have a chance to pull up. I'll be posting all about my trip once I am rested and my routine is back to normal! Until then, here are a few fun pictures from my trip ... enjoy!

Just Because ... Jaz's Turn!

Go Jaz!

We just received Jazmyne's TCAP test scores from 4th grade. I am soooo very proud of her! She scored ADVANCED in all areas of Mathematics & Reading/Language and she scored Proficient in all areas of Science & Social Studies. Jazmyne has always done well and school and I hope and pray that her love for learning never ceases! We both still miss her 4th grade teacher and are forever thankful for the impact she made in Jaz's life.

Just Because

Just Because:

1) I spend my days with my little man and he is growing right before my eyes yet I just don't know where the time (the past 2 1/2 yrs) has gone! I pick up my camera and click away so I will always remember him this little.

2) I can not go for very long with out using my camera and Photoshop .

3)Parker is just SO DARN CUTE!!! I just can't resist capturing his cuteness with my camera! He's such a happy go lucky little guy. His little chuckles and smiles brighten my days!

Sean says Parker has my mouth ...

Now granted he doesn't particularly like the camera in his face, he never really has which has always been a challenge for me! This is what I have to work with while I'm attempting to take his pictures ...

And sitting still is definitely something he does not like to do. Sometimes you really have to come up with creative bribes to get him to sit still for pictures. Toys and lollipops don't always do the trick. Yesterday it was my ring. He LOVES to play with my wedding ring ...

Wagon Boy

Parker's favorite thing to do when he goes outside to play is to PULL his wagon around our culde-a-sac. He could do it for hours and hours and never get bored. Occasionally he will let me put him in it and pull him around but that's very rare. He is content pulling it around the neighborhood himself.
