Christmas Morning

SANTA CAME!!
I love his determined look in this picture ...and her half-asleep look ...
Easton decided it was time to wake up once Jaz and Parker were finished opening their presents. He was ALL smiles ...
Easton blinked and Parker is forcing a smile ... oh well ;)

Christmas Eve

We started out the evening as we do each year and did our family gift exchange ...
We got Jaz this cool tin lunchbox with her name on it ...
And I got Parker his first REAL camera!
He LOVED (s) it! He immediately started taking pictures of sissy ...
and the tree ...

(Easton was napping during the festivities)

Then we got ready and headed over to my mom's house for dinner ...

(Parker packed his backpack and was ready to go)

(unfortunately we only got a couple of pictures while there and someone either has a silly face or is blinking, so they didn't make it to the blog)

Then we came home and did our Christmas Eve traditions ...

Before bedtime we put out cookies for Santa and then I read "The Night Before Christmas" to the kids. My parents read this story to my brother and I every Christmas Eve as children and I started the tradition again for Jaz's 1st Christmas and have done it every year since :)

Initial Ornaments

I love Christmas ornaments that have meaning behind them. My favorite part of decorating the tree is pulling those ornaments out and telling the kids the story behind them. I have Ornaments from my parents first Christmas together and have very vivid memories of those particular ornaments hanging on our tree when I was little. It is so special to me to still have a few of them hanging on my tree now for my kids to enjoy! The Star on top of our tree is from Jaz's 1st Christmas and has been on top of our tree every year since then. The kids have their "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornaments as well as 1 for each year (well up to the 1st 5 years). We also have family picture ornaments with the year on them.

This year I wanted to do something special for each of us (esp the kids) since it is the 1st year of us all together as a complete family of 5! I found these super cute hand knit initial ornaments and bought one for each of us. (Sean pointed out that our initials together spell "JEEPS" hahaha) Anyhow the picture below isn't the greatest picture (I snapped it super fast just to have something before they got hung on the tree) but it shows all 3 kids with their initial ornaments. I hope that they will treasure these for years to come and will appreciate them even more when they are able to hang them on their own Christmas tree and tell their kids the meaning behind them :)

Bird Watching

Easton's favorite little toy is the bird hanging on his activity mat. His eyes always go straight to it when we put him down for some play time ...

He also likes to study the cow and will swat at it ...

Happy Holidays!
